Mission Statement

Rancho Los Amigos seeks to reach, raise and restore needy, hurting, abandoned, and / or abused children; to provide them with a secure, loving home environment where they will receive food and shelter, a bilingual character-based education that teaches them to be principled in decision-making; and to equip them in critical life skills that will assist them to be productive citizens who make a positive contribution to their community.

Purpose

Rancho Los Amigos (RLA) provides love, protection, a clean home, good meals, and an education for an average of 25-30 children primarily from the Sauzal and Juàrez, Mexico area. RLA brings hope to children who find themselves in difficult situations. At RLA the children are given the opportunity to know God, to grow and mature in a Christian environment, and to become positive influences in their society. Rancho Los Amigos believes that giving each child opportunity to grow in a positive environment alters the future of a child. The goals of the home are met through the help and service of RLA's full-time volunteer missionary staff.

A solid education is central to the home's endeavor to change the future for these children. Every school-age child at the home has the opportunity to attend a school where they receive a good education with a strong, educational program emphasizing phonics and math. Several of the children at RLA have special learning needs. Each of these children is assessed in cooperation with the Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) and or the school to place them in the environment most helpful to learning.

RLA's goals are to provide every child at the home with:

• Hope and opportunity
• Physical, spiritual, and emotional healing
• A well-rounded, bilingual, character-based academic education
• A strong moral foundation based on Biblical principles
• A sense of responsibility of their need to contribute positively to the lives of others
